What do you mean by 'feline lipidosis'; do you mean hepatic lipidosis in cats; if so do you recall the pathogenesis with regards to feeding?

RE: Diabetes increase

How common was diabetes before Go Cat [a marker of the start of dried food] and I think the dinovets, maybe not me 'cos I'm a twat, would have found it.

Similarly feline lipidosis. When was the first case seen or documented?

From carnivore to, what, "herbivore" is a big metabolic shift?

Dogs have always had a fair amount of CHO in their diet; cats, pre Go-cat very little, if any.

However as cats are mostly type II and we know that obesity is on the increase for obvious reasons then it stands to reason that there will be more feline csses.

RE: Diabetes increase

My thread was a wooden horse as I was trying to flush out
Not in our practice!
this sort of response.

I can't help feeling that the rise in the various FU problems is somehow connected to the change in cats' diet to something unnatural.

This is despite the wooden horses presented by manufacturer's connection with "scientific" publications.

RE: Diabetes increase

Not in our practice!

We generally tick over with a similar number of dog and cat cases much of the time. No obvious shift but we do try hard to keep pet weights down and keep them off Bakers, Wagg and Go-Cat as much as possible!

An excuse to increase the profile of one of the worst insurance companies?
