I think the problem is that the incidence and severity of the visible changes increase with age going from 25%+ at 2 to 75% in maturity . So lots of clinical normals have syrinx noted when looking for other things. Cant remember the last time we sent an MRI of a CKCS to Vet CT and it did not have a comment about an incidental syrinx that did not fit the clinical picture. The CKCS puppy sale price is not brilliant and the smaller litter size and hybrid production for similar returns means your making too big a hole in the bottom line of that particular cottage industry and telling them things they do not want to hear.
