Chorulon has LH like activity so mimics the effect of the LH surge. We use it to force ovulation in cows regularly. If this was my client I'd repeat the Chorulon.

I've spayed lots of bitches around their season and never had a problem. It is more friable and blood supply greater, but not insurmountably so. Usually bitches mated by accident now that it costs so much to inject them.

Unrealistic expectations. They want a quick magic wand fix for a fiver, then chance their arm breeding to make a fast buck.

What will they do if an OOH C-section is needed, which could be somewhere north of £1000 ?

My advice would be to spay.

Or maybe point them in the direction of the door.

Or it could cost similar for a pyo and no puppies to sell.

These are the worst sorts of clients. They had enough money to buy a husky puppy in the first place in the hope of making a quick buck!

Thank you all for your advice and help.

Owners would like to breed from her...

They do not have money and can not afford refferal. Therefore I contacted specialists from a popular university(will not mention any names) who sugested Chorulon inj im-used in prolonged season in bitches.

Owner declined human contraceptive pill-the reason is that they want guarantee this problem will be solved.

I have already warned them about possible problems with the next season also pyometra.I agree ,with neutering bitches in season its very risky..

I would suspect a split season and this is not uncommon in young females. I am surprised about the Chorulon injection I can't see how it would trigger ovulation but I am happy to be corrected.

What do the owners expect? If it's a breeding bitch tell them to invest in some pants and brace themselves, it will go in the end. If it's not a breeding bitch I would try progestagens to stop the season and spay as soon as stopped. Obviously explain them the risk of pyometra as some owners might change their mind and want an entire bitch.

I prefer not to spay during season, I found the ones I did to bleed more and have a friable uterus.

Why don't they want her spayed? Risks? Do they want to breed?

I would probably also go with a delvosterone injection to suppress the oestrus - but warn them of the risk of pyometra and spay once in anoestrus.

What do the owners actually want? they have declined your advice to neuter, and also the advice of a specialist to use the human contraceptive pill.
