One of the owners concerns was widespread moderate sized comedones mainly over her dorsum/neck

RE: Chinese crested dog - widespread comedones/cysts

something with benzoyl peroxide might help?

virbac have withdrawn paxcutol (difficulty sourcing). i'm not aware of other "doggy" ones retailing in eu, but davis, dermapet etc can be imported from usa at a price:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-DermaPet-Benzoyl-Peroxide-Plus-Shampoo-DermaBenSS-12oz-FREE-SHIPPING-/401110925212?hash=item5d6412ff9c:g:13QAAOSwubRXHWA0

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Davis-Benzoyl-Peroxide-2-5-Medicated-Mange-Relief-Dog-Shampoo-Vet-Product-/180873187974

Panoxyl aqua gel might be worth a try for daily application, with weekly bathing? the one nice thing about hairless dog derm cases is suddenly the world of well known creams, gels and other "messy" topicals can be applied bodywide. use of moisturising rinse probably sensible if using.

EDIT = panoxyl seems to gave left marketplace also. maybe acnecide instead? eg https://www.chemistdirect.co.uk/acnecide-5-wash/prd-3nbc

Matt, in your text it mentions antiseborrheic, follicular flushing (comedyolytic) shampoos, conditioners, sprays etc.

Does anyone know what products/brand these would be??

Definitely will recommend skin scrapes as the next move though :)

RE: Chinese crested dog - widespread comedones/cysts

Unfortunately very common in the breed. Mostly cosmetic.

I have had 1 in the past <2yrs old at the time I saw it and not sure what possessed me, but did a skin scrape and had demodex (lots found on scrape, not just a few). Treated for it and there was a reduction in comedones though never completely disappeared. Dog was more comfortable after the treatment finished. Still not entirely sure if it was linked or not but owner was very pleased at least.

RE: Chinese crested dog - widespread comedones/cysts

I think this is fairly common for this breed. If no concerns about systemic disease, a few suggestions here:
