I wonder what value this will be towards diagnosis as we know that FCoV antibody titres are very variable in FIP and are not diagnostic. They do add a caveat that it is only part

RE: New FIP test kit

Exactly my initial thoughts. There is a brief 'advertorial' on it on p 657 of this week's comic Vet Record. It says it's 'an in-clinic diagnostic test to screen for the presence of FCoV in serum or plasma'. It appears to be detecting the virus itself rather than the antibody titre but I can't see how that is any more use either. Be interesting to see its sensitivity/specificity.

A bit more use it seems is their FIP Virus RealPCR which claims to ' help detect the mutations in FCoV to the pathogenic FIP virus biotype'.

RE: New FIP test kit

What is the test testing?

RE: New FIP test kit

What is the test testing?
