I assume you mean "threat" and yes, could be, just can't understand how the linear "scratches" to the side of the scrotum could occur. I would have assumed licking would be the usual response to a dog's itchy scrotum??

It really looks likea contact reaction, but its controlled with cortavance. In fact, she just started using it again this week, it was really better.

But i dont know if it will heal for itself honestly.

Maybe some Sensitive diet can play a part in the recovery process. Or some ambiental factor- bedspread or detergent- can be the "threat"

What about the newish linear "scratches" to the right of the picture?

As I asked.

They do look like scratches too but I can't work out which leg of the dog would do it, and if not THE dog then how to explain them?

Strange lesions for some sort of contact reaction??

HEre it is.

Talked to the owner who replied that the dog was ok (thats why she never talked to the clinic and never came back) but recently another flare showed up, she started again cortavance. But still, major improvement. No scrotal ablation was needed, just cortavance for long periods of time, asseptic measures and patience.

She sent me some photos

Honestly, i've not followed the dog. It wasn't my case, the vet that first saw him is back, and is now with it. If i see the animal again i will post the follow up

Just wondering if, when the scrotum is partially or totally ablated, the testicles just slide up

towards the inguinal ring a la "retained testicle"?

In other words can you remove all or part of the scrotum without castrating the dog, which some owners, and vets, may prefer?
