&lt;p&gt;Why not? We always had ours in a large tank with about 50% swimming water and about 50% basking area of gravel and rocks and they seemed to thrive.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;These are red-eared sliders we&amp;#39;re talking about here, just to be clear.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;A waiting-room display tank? Not v. practical I know but I saw practice many moons ago at a place which had terrapins in the WR and it was such a popular thing.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I love terrapins, I used to have them at college and for a good while after I graduated. They&amp;#39;re tough as nails (one of mine attacked the cat once) but the management is time consuming.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Unfortunately I have been faced with a similar situation and even though I have a client whose company specialises in re-locating species as diverse as penguins, bears, wolves, alliagors and elephants he was unable to help and told me to euthanase them.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
