The radiographs are of a 10 month-old border collie who ran away from his owner yesterday and was hit by a van. I think depending on progress I might re-take them in a couple of weeks to see how that area is progressing and will definitely do a lateral then. I'm also a bit concerned about the potential impact for the joint in the future if there is a fracture there - I don't think the hip looks brilliant anyway in the straight view and the owners now report previous hindlimb lameness although they can't agree which leg!

Thanks also for your comments about the xrays, sad as it may seem that really made my day!

RE: RTA - acetabular fracture?

I agree with everything Neil has said (including how nice the xrays are)

RE: RTA - acetabular fracture?

OK I'll go first

There may? be something on the caudal right acetabulum, there a line of radioluscency. The question is, is there any displacement and you'd need a lateral view for that.

For now I'd conservatively manage this as no displacement and the radiolucency doesn't look to be the full length.

Lovely X-Rays

 Neil

PS Malcolm posted the other day, so here's hoping.

RE: RTA - acetabular fracture?

Second radiograph
