I'm not too worried about disciplinary issues, in a very young animal I'd be using a liquid TMPS which would be an off license human product, but I'd be concerned about using a product with only anecdotal evidence of effectiveness when there is another drug that is listed in the formulary as being effective.

RE: Canine Coccidiosis

you'll be fine.at least in my neck of the woods we don't have a rabid disciplinary committee to terrorize us .

RE: Canine Coccidiosis
Possibly not!
The breeder needs to look at biosecurity/ hygeine issues. Steam cleaning can work well at killing environmental cysts. but good luck persuading ...

It is a 12 week old retriever puppy from a questionable background. Still eating and putting on weight, but presented and the end of the week floppy with vomiting and diarrhoea. He had previously been diagnosed with isospora and was on TMPS. The TMPS was stopped because of the GI signs, was vBAR whilst hospitalised and is now back at the breeder with solid stools.
No idea about canine coccidiosis I'm afraid but you could call a local farm/exotics practice and ask them to dispense a smaller amount of baycox for your case if you supply a written prescription? Make sure you and the client know if the 'in water' preparation is to be used though as this can't be given neat.
