'Cleared without treatment'??? That's a new one on me! Did they call the vet and the vet decided that it didn't require treating?

I find that a genuine straightforward sinusitis (some people tend to call every unilateral snotty nose sinusitis...) that is fixed with antibiotics, and doesn't start again when the antibiotics are stopped, doesn't tend to be an issue that recurs.

The ones where the sinusitis is a by-product of a tooth root infection will obviously continue, or recur, until the primary problem is fixed. These often get a bit better on abx, then kick off again when you stop the abx.

I would think if it has been fine since January, and didn't need any drugs to fix it (?!) then it will continue to be fine. It is certainly a very low risk, and horses that are perfect in every way are few and far between!

Turns out he did have three weeks of antibiotics, I misheard. I have just done a trail ride with him , 75 miles over four days and he seems fine so I'm going to have him. Best therapy in the world.

RE: Equine Sinusitis , likelihood of recurrence

Walk away.
A snotty nose may be anything from a hay seed which was inhaled to the nasal cavity but no further, and has now run out of its own accord, in which case it could have cleared up with no treatment, right up to strangles.
