forgot to mention the translucent skin when at its worst - you could see the blood vessels

the skin became very thin, discoloured and sore with small blisters/ sores in all the friction areas - groin, axillae, neck with weak, listless pup, losing appetite. Initially thought the pup had been bathed in something or that the breeder had been over-enthusiastic with disinfection but it was very obviously ill and fading with poor protein levels. Stopped the welpi and changed the supplement with instant results after antibiotics and washing with surface creams had failed. Within 1 day the fading/ weakness had stopped, within 3 days the skin recovered normal colour and sores started to heal and by 1 week, pup looked as healthy as it could. Only treatment at that stage diet change.

I believe the pup is primarily being fed by the mother. No signs of D+, etc. This is the lightest pup in the litter so don't think the pup's weight is an issue currently (he weighs just over 1kg).

What reaction did the pup have with Welpi?

or too heavy resulting in bruised joints, check calcium intake, we just had a nutitional hyperparathyoid case (rubber jaw) where a breeder had decided to treat pup diarrhoea with weetabix.

We have also had a bulldog pup that had a very bad reaction to the welpi - instant improvement on carnation ideal milk and egg yolk

Yes I wondered the same about the patellae. I presume not ossified yet. Arthrogryposis sounds like a good shout, struggling to find much info online or in textbooks. Diseases such as spina bifida and congenital muscular dystrophy have come up in my searches.

Just a thought - I assume the patellae aren't ossified at this age, ' cause I certainly can't see them on the rads. There was a great book of radiography at my old practice that had pics of juvenile cats and dogs from about 1week old onwards, would love to have it to hand just now! ("Atlas of interpretative radiographic anatomy of the dog and cat" was the title)

Don't see an obvious bony cause - would have thought arthrogryposis likely.

Attached some photos and radiographs! Any advice gratefully received! The photo of the lateral stifles show the limit of extension of the joint. His stifles appear swollen and even under sevo (masked down), was yelping when trying to fully extend these joints for xray.
