I administered cyclophophamide orally to a cat yesterday. She has t.cell intestinal lymphoma and we were on day 2 of her COP protocol. Today she has food aversion and starts to salivate when offered food but seems interested. No lesions

RE: Subclinical stomatitis in cats post cyclophosphamide

She had maropitant on day one with her vincristine, and I gave another injection on day 3 when she was showing these signs.

I haven't heard from owners today so I'm hoping she has improved. We will have to think about wether she has it again in three weeks.

RE: Subclinical stomatitis in cats post cyclophosphamide

Could it be she is just feeling nauseous secondary to the chemotherapy? [/quote]I would normally happily give most cats 50mg tabs but obviously decrease frequency pro-rata to achieve the equivalent of 50mg/msq alternate days. The advantage of getting specials made up is that you could achieve the actual dose accurately and perhaps avoid the side effects associated with the 50mg tabs. So say with a 4kg cats = 0.25msq if you got 12.5mg capsules made up you would achieve this. I don't know for sure, I'm just thinking out loud.

RE: Subclinical stomatitis in cats post cyclophosphamide

The screen with options to post in oncology wouldn't open on my phone but I will try re-post when at a computer!

RE: Subclinical stomatitis in cats post cyclophosphamide

She had a 50mg tablet which is just under 200mg/m2. What dose are you giving? You can get lower dose capsules made up pretty inexpensively by Nova Labs.

PS It might be worth re-posting this under oncology and Gerry Polton may be along.
