&lt;p&gt;Xylitol poisoning is over-estimated IME.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Good results with carprofen where meloxicam causes upset, and carprieve tablets are tiny and rimadyl tasty. A lot of the GI upset is thought to be direct irritant effect i.e. nowt to do with COX. Heard good reports about onsior but never used it. &lt;p&gt;She has it wrapped in white bread, compressed almost to a paste! No problems giving this but she is otherwise a nightmare to give tablets to. I have never known a dog that is so clever at not taking tablets.&lt;/p&gt;
