Have a 4 year old male tortoise, allowed access to outiside enclosed garden. Chewed by large dog at New Year with extensive shell damage, resolved,. Then developed noisy breathing and pneumonia on Xray in March, treated oral Baytril for 4 weeks

RE: Oslerus osleri in tortoises?

How odd. Mammalian lungworm are incredibly unlikely to cause pathology in reptiles as there is little overlap between host taxa. I would assume misidentification/lab handlign error/inadvertent ingestion of ova in a non-host species.

Abscesses in reptiles are cavitating and become progressively filled with fibrous material that doesn't drain so this will need debridement and culture.

In an anorexic tortoise that is kept partially/completely in a garden then chronic immunosuppression from low/varying temperatures is likely a factor but difficult to give necessary temperature ranges for an unknown species.

Any coelomic/lung penetration in original injuries? What action was taken to manage the wounds?

An overall husbandry review and correction of failings, debridement and culture of the abscess and lung flush for culture (and parasitology in this case) would be a good starting point.
