I'm done well over 100 puppies at a few days old and they are so much easier than doing them at 6 weeks.

Established client who I trust and dock puppies I will chip later.

Random guy not known to us then I will dock, chip and certify (and charge) all at once.

It can be done very early in docked pups, but we always do them at 7 weeks, I really don't fancy trying to chip a 2day old wriggly working cocker!

We generally do 1st vaccination and microchipping for litters at 6-7 weeks of age

I'm a horse vet, so no expert, but we have bought working terriers with docked tails who have been done at this age. So in response to the original question, it can be done.

Yeah, I wondered about that. I guess we're good to go then. I'm in Scotland so no tail docking to contend with!

Technically can be done any age. Our docked puppies are asked to come back at 6wks for chipping where possible though.
