Also Morgan, Handbook of Small Animal Practice - lots of information and very easy to use

Erk, just looked on Amazon and the 2005 handbook version I've got (the "Manual" of internal medicine) is selling for >£100. I had a look at my Amazon account and I paid £38 in 2006 - I'd probably just get the up to date (5th edition)hardback!

Nelson & Couto is the one that I always see on practice shelves alongside Fossum. There's a cheaper handbook version that I take with me on my travels.

Is there a UK one? I don't know if it has changed, and I admit it is 10+ years since I looked, but Ettinger is (was?) very American. I spent more time getting upset by the spellings, North American emphasis on diseases and treatments.

Ettinger - Textbook of Small animal Internal Medicine is, of course, the bible, encyclopaedic, and a sound investment whose current edition will still be useful in a decade, if not longer.

Hopper - Small animal Critical Care Medicine 2nd Edition is also excellent and an essential volume for any small animal veterinary clinic's library.

Worth investing in both.
