A 4 week course of doxycycline can be curative. The problem is that in a multi-cat/breeding situation unless you treat all contacts then they will re-infect. We routinely vaccinate against this although I know many don&amp;#39;t.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

If you don&amp;#39;t treat it effectively the kittens will probably catch it from mum as soon as the MDA has declined so their sale will be compromised - money talks. Doxy doesn&amp;#39;t have the same risk of tooth discoloration as other tetracyclines but its her call. As you say datasheet says do not use because lack of evidence for safety rather than evidence of harm - not teratogenic in rabbits or rats. Might get some tooth discolouration but that seems it.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Alternative is amoxiclav which is safe in pregnancy. Quite a bit of evidence as efficacious as doxy but need a longer course to clear - usually 5-6 weeks.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Anecdotally, quicker resolution with doxy, and normally only require 2-3w course to eliminate.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
