[/quote]No problemo. That dose is the same as I would use for FeLV related disease. For FIP I would try 1MU/kg alternate days x 7 doses. For acute viral disease - FHV/FCV I would use 2.5MU/kg for 3 days.

FIV has always been cited in lists of differentials for neuropathies in cats but I have no further experience although I've seen a few with dermatosis/dermatitis. For my part it would be a viable explanation for the owner that this is something we can't cure and if the cat is that bad its best euthanased.

I've used interferon in FIV +ve cats with other diseases related to the immunosuppressive effects and anaemias but its still no cure. For what its worth the dose I used was Virbagen Omega 1MU/kg s/c for 5 days then reassessed after 14 days. If there was an improvement I'd repeat the dose and then give periodic sets of 5 injections based on clinical observations, but if there was no response it would be classified as a non-responder with a grave prognosis.
