There is a tick survellance scheme in place, if you still have the ticks you can send them in.

Question is if we vote to leave in June will they change the rules back? I doubt it as it will take too much effort to change the legislation and they will have bigger fish to fry.

The real answer is that you cannot do more. The idiots in charge of the PETS travel legislation were happy to remove pretty much every safeguard we had to minimise the risks of importing parasites present on mainland Europe.

Thankfully they listened at the last minute to some of the medics who were worried about importing tapeworms but completely ignored ticks. It would have cost nothing more to retain the need to treat with an approved tick product.

Too keen to be good Europeans and/or too weak to stand their ground!
