Just a question, when choosing nutritional supplements, primarily for conditions where it is useful, what companies are reliable, and is there any "board" or similar that actually analyses the contents for what they say they contain

RE: Nutritional supplements.

I thought that was the case, I remember some of those chondroitin/glucosamine supplements were missing one or the other in some cases!

As for your devils advocacy question, Ca and D3 for hypoparathyroidism, Vit K for rat bait toxicity, all nutrients that treat a condition!

all of those are available reliably though, in my specific case I was looking for B3 to try and help with lowering a dogs blood triglycerides, I don't know how well that will work yet, but he is already on the low fat pancreatitis diets so I thought it's worth a try.

RE: Nutritional supplements.

AFAIA there is no standardisation of these products because they are classified as nutritional supplements. They may subject themselves to scrutiny for their own quality control but for example when there was an independent survey of glucosamine/chondroitin supplements most were shown to contain less than it said on the tin, some big names dramatically so, but there is no obligation to correct this. This does also however beg to question your original question - are they useful anyway?!
