Big anaesthetic machines tend to be quite cheap because many practices just don't have the space!

Don't be put off by the sometimes vague salesmanship from Medicalia and be prepared to badger them!

Not the best organised bunch but they have been doing the job for a very long time so must be doing something right!

+1 for medicalia , falling over himself to help me and I am looking for the same thing as you. all sorted yesterday, really sensible and more than happy to source/sell reconditioned units everyone else seems to want to push for new.

Medicalia stuff can be cosmetically challenged at times but I have never had a technical problem with their stuff in the past.

They do a very inexpensive active scavenging system based on computer fans (I believe). Works really well and without the complexity of some other systems. Passes its annual inspection without problems!

I thought might have got last one from http://www.customoptics.co.uk/ but looking at the website that seems improbable (might have been a similar sounding named company without such a high-ranking google search place? you could phone them and check it wasn't them). It was a refurbished ex-hospital unit for approx £1000 incl. vapourizer and delivery to Ireland and I have been very happy with it since! (If I see a sticker on it with its source tomorrow I'll post it)

If you're looking for something basic and smaller, then JAK have a range worth exploring.

I expect a bargain can be had at some of the auctions if you collect yourself for something that can largely be examined yourself to check is in reasonable condition and then just get serviced when you get it home. The biggest cost is likely the vapourizer and that will fit in a car easily (though is the hardest part to visually assess...)!
