Saw rep about it this week, in theory sounds great, but looking for some unbiased opinions!

RE: Torasemide (Upcard) any experiences?
diuresis occurs over a smaller window so making management of unwanted indoor puddles a bit easier,
I don't understand this.
increasing compliance as only a once a day tablet rather than 2-3 times daily with frusemide in some cases.
I thought this was main advantage was longer drug half-life therefore less frequent dosing required for patients in need of serious diuresis.

I've used it for this reason a few times (switchoing from approx 1/10th of furosemide dose that was required) with modest satisfaction - probably not enough cases to draw a firm opinion.
first line treatment
furosemide is cheaper than torasemide here and I generlaly prefer minimal diuresis reuqired to bring resting resp rate down while avoiding unpleasant piddling in house etc, so often try to get down to once daily furosemide after compensation. Also significantly more clinical experience with furosemide.
What has been your clinical experience
Using for dogs that were on high doses of furosemide with insufficient effect and not much polyuria, I found torasemide to be effective in producing the marked diuresis that was being aimed for but not achieved with the furosemide - we're only talking a couple of cases though.

And is indicated as a first line treatment. What has been your clinical experience with it Bob Russell? Nothing new about the drug, just the licence and flavour!

Generally works well but not sure I would use it as first line. We are off the beaten track for most reps because we are too small for them to bother with!

RE: Torasemide (Upcard) any experiences?

use the higher end dose rate DO NOT go off the laminated chart they give you. heard lecturer mention it at LVS and does sound promising at the right dose.
