Big 'oss, stood still, so reduced venous return - get her walking.

The swelling seemingly went forwards.

If nothing obvious on examination then some bloods (even just a total protein) would be good.

RE: Numpty horse owner question

I walked her out today and am slowly building up her exercise. If I let her loose she leaps about like a loony but I've been walking her round. I don't think they walked her yesterday when I couldn't get up there. Her rug was quite tight cos she's got a bit fatter so I'm hoping its that .

RE: Numpty horse owner question

Is she on total box rest or could you walk her out in hand and see if goes down afterwards?

RE: Numpty horse owner question

Thanks Joyce and thanks to your husband too. Could be overtight girth, cardiogenic or hypoproteinaemia, so auscultation and then maybe blood proteins would be a good first step.
