I have a 10 yo Golden Retriever with an extensive lesion in his mouth, we have offered the owner COP protocol but I believe this

Re: Lomustine/CCNU for treating canine lymphoma

Hi Holly

I have used it for a couple of patients, in general Lomustine is not considered as effective as injectable agents and does require monitoring of the haemogram as well. I have not used it in epithelotropic lymphoma. Its usually given every 3 weeks if I remember correctly, and response rates to lymphoma in general are moderate. If you do a pubmed search you'll find some good articles. It is good for rescue not for induction although it could be completely different for epitheliotropic lymphoma. Second the advice to discuss with a specialist.

Cheers

She mentioned Lomustine a couple of times during oncology lecture at BSAVA. Have only tried treating one case of epitheliotrophic lymphoma (oddly in similar age Golden Retriever) - with high dose COP. Dog was quite ill after 1st week's treatment so owner didn't want to continue - but the lesions went into remission for several months!
