What's a fever to most of us? I take 39.0 and below as definitely normal, 39.1 to 39.4 as probably normal but if the animal is ill then probably up, and 39.5 and above as definitely up

Depends what the antibiotics have been prescribed for! Chronic conditions - would probably vaccinate, acutely ill patients would not.

Kennel cough vaccination would be daft to administer.

Does anyone know anything about the oral KC vaccine talked about in the latest WSAVA vaccination advisory? If so will head off on a tangent!!!

Why stress an already stressed animal? Bad for vaccine 'take' and doesnt help the dog. I wait 99.9% of the time( as there is always an exception in life).

I can't envisage vaccinating an animal on antibiotics - that is only going to be temporary. How can we expect the immune system to react to a pathetic little injection of killed things, when it is off fighting real infection? I've had to re-start puppy courses before and no one has ever moaned.

No different in puppies or adults.

I will vaccinate dogs on long term steroids - with the view it won't harm and may well help. If steroids truly knocked out all the immune response the dog would be dead.......

I will vaccinate with bad teeth etc, but would take temperature first, and if raised (39+) try and treat first.
