In the case I had, there was no (well practically) neck pain, however the owner did comment that there was lots at the original presentation

My understanding is that Beagle Pain Syndrome is essentially the same as Steroid Responsive Meningitis Arteritis (SRMA) it can just be more necrotising than in other breeds and is more likely to be progressive and/or less responsive to medication.

That's the point, it's not sterile meningitis as far as I can gather. Langford (and this was just from the history) said a spinal tap would differentiate between the two, so it's a separate entity. Yes in an ideal word I'd spinal tap and check, but someone somewhere has identified this disease and I thought I'd post it. Always something new out there

Was thinking that as well, especially when you mentioned the discomfort in vetroflexion of the head. Worth a spinal tap?
