Indeed, and the SYWB before that. Played to Italian monks and got a free bottle of their (apparently famous) wine, and a performance at Eurodisney. Best thing I ever did!

I play the French Horn. Have done since I was 13/14. Wasn't that bad - I was in NYCOS, NYOS, and NYWES and was even asked if I wanted to be a professional player at my vet school interview?! Also play Bass Guitar, badly, in a wee rock band at uni. Kinda need to get back into playing, need to find a wee Orchestra or Wind band to get a toot in.

You'll have a job - word of mouth is our marketing forte, and since our audiences are held enthralled by our beat, our harmonies and our delivery they haven't the time (and are probably not of an age ) to capture it all with smart phones!!

Re ReelVets - we've been playing now for probably decades and have a terrific caller who can coax the most amazing responses out of the gathering. We play all sorts of gigs in all sorts of venues including Weddings (and a couple of Wakes... ... ..).

Up here in mid-Wales I've been astonished by the number of superb musicians hiding in the woods and simply love to busk along with their offerings at Open Mics and Sessions.

Our Rock'n'Roll band of 6, from a hamlet with 7 habitations is driven (fortunately) by a fabulously talented now 17yo drummer. We started when he was 13!

I'm afraid that despite racial stereotyping, I'm hopelessly non-musical! My music lessons were dictated by parents - the piano because my mother had wanted to learn when she was a child, but her parents couldn't afford either a piano or lessons - so she decided when still a little girl, that if she ever had a daughter,then that daughter would learn. The violin, because there was a violin in the house - a relic of the time when my even less musicalfather had also been forced to learn!
