My music lessons were dictated by parents - the piano because my mother had wanted to learn when she was a child, but her parents couldn&#39;t afford either a piano or lessons - so she decided when still a little girl, that if she ever had a daughter, then that daughter would learn. The violin, because there was a violin in the house - a relic of the time when my even less musicalfather had also been forced to learn!</p>
