You don't always get stranguria in female UTI - they can be annoyingly nonspecific sometimes.

Thanks, UTI was certainly high on my list, just strange that there is no polystranguria. The dog is spayed. I was really just wondering if there were any rare non-urinary -tract conditions I needed to keep in mind, like some random metabolic condition Dr House/Doc Martin would come up with.

There was an episode of House MD where Dr House got an odour of sweet grapes from a woman's clothes and was thus able to diagnose a Clostridium perfringens infection. Not sayin' it's scientific or anything but damn, he's dreamy :)

Urinary tract infection seems most likely, assume no skin lesions/vaginal lesions? Speyed? Low grade endometritis? Definitely need a urine sample- keep dog in for day and collect free catch sample yourselves , shouldn't be too expensive? Then take it from there
