I know they have the same active ingredient but is the bioavailability different?
We've found this as well, and when I spoke to our Dechra rep she said they've had quite a lot of vets reporting it as well.

RE: Thyroforon vs soloxine??

We had one or two who seemed to need a lower dose of Thyfyron than they did Soloxine

RE: Thyroforon vs soloxine??
And some who were on Leventa who were changed as that was temporarily on short supply and they don't want to change back.
I had the opposite, I only have one hypothyroid dog at the moment (strangely have more hypothyroid cats)! However the rep said if they are stable, just to use an SID dose of thyforon (at equivalent dose to the soloxine they were on), and I haven't had to adjust any of my patients' doses (most have T4 monitored) since switching drugs.

Also, it comes in blister packs so no more counting ninety soloxines - joy!

RE: Thyroforon vs soloxine??

We have a couple of clients who think it's better!
