I know I received some information recently about a topical ear treatment which does not need to be applied daily. I now have a case which would really benefit from something like this but I cannot

RE: New ear treatment
is it effective?
It'd be worth to check cytology to rule out Pseudomonas. Apparently the product won't work on those.

There is also a free CPD of its use in here: https://www.thewebinarvet.com/webinar/approach-to-otitis-externa-osurnia-sponsored-by-elanco/

RE: New ear treatment

Also, I've used it twice so far, and it's worked both times.

RE: New ear treatment

Hi Sam,

It's called Osurnia (Novartis); its treatment course is 2 applications 1 week apart. The first application is applied after cleaning and drying the ear (and checking the tympanic membrane), and the second dose is applied without cleaning.

The ears shouldn't be cleaned for 2 weeks following the 2nd dose.
