We have had dogs retired/withdrawn for specific medical conditions that have been continued to be covered, but not new problems

Do the people have new guide dogs also? Maybe 1 dog per person paid for?

Neither of our clients has another guide dog. In one case the owner kept her husband's guide dog after her husband died as the dog was close to retirement age. In the other case the owner kept the dog after it retired, I don't know why they didn't got a new guide dog.

I don't know the regulations and I don't trust my memory too much but I seem to recall some cases in which they pay for retired animals too.

I don't think so. We have a blind client and he kept his old dog and paid for the treatment after retirement.

is it only one foot - no evidence of lupoid onychodystrophy? omega fatty acids/vit e/ tetracyclines (zoetis-us have nice summary)?

if primarily bacterial, regional intravenous antibiotics might improve penetration?

vetericyn vf spray seems to work well for moist lesions you don't want to macerate further by heavy dressings.

Could you try some wet-to-dry gauze dressings to try and remove as much crud as possible - perhaps tha'ts interfering with antibiotic efficiency?

Interesting thought Anthony.... General health is good, not diabetic, could check BP I suppose.

Pseudomonas is always a b*** to get rid of isn't it. Have tried Manuka dressings but it only softens the pad and expedites the problem!
