FNA suggests a Synovial cyst/Ganglion cyst. Anyone had any experience treating one of these? Any references you are aware of? Any suggestions

RE: Ganglion cyst/Synovial cyst
They used to advise whacking it with a bible . I wonder who thought that one up
It was probably the largest book that most people possessed. But perhaps the healing properties of a bible are just greater!

I still wack dislocated hips after reduction with a big textbook (don't possess a bible), in fact did so on a cat yesterday!

RE: Ganglion cyst/Synovial cyst

I had a ganglion on the inside of my left wrist. It was very hard and felt almost bony. It didn't show up on x-ray and took a while to convince the doctors that despite there being no bony changes, I did need something doing. Ultrasound scanned it and took them the pictures.

It's supposed to be a family bible you hit it with, but ours is at my parents house so I put the back of my wrist on a table and hit the lump as hard as I could with my confirmation bible.

What can I say? I was young and foolish. It was damn sore and did no good whatsoever and attracted some amount of scorn from my long suffering mother. I later had it surgically removed and enjoyed watching the operation.

RE: Ganglion cyst/Synovial cyst

They used to advise whacking it with a bible . It was there for a few months before it went away though. Apparently the old school treatment in people was to hit them with something heavy so they'd go away...!! I am not advocating that treatment obviously!!
