The pug puppy is about 7dd old, has no tail. Anus present and defecating normally. The red strip is in effect the dorsal urethral mucosa. It is possible to reconstruct the urethra but it is not straightforward. I once saw a case in a young Welsh Spaniel pup that if memory serves me correctly we surgically removed the affected portion of "opened out" urethra. My main memory of this case was how pleased the new owners were because the breeder had given them a discount on the pup!

RE: Odd deformity in puppy

+1 hypospadia
