Hi, the dog's usual vet has been working it up to an extent - the owner doesn't want referral. There is a narrowing between t11 and t12 which is assumed to be responsible.

The dog is with the owner throughout the day- they work from home and the dog is in the office. Having spoken to them more, I suspect the timing of the episodes are just down to the dog stiffening up after being in the same position for a while.
Has there been any response to nsaids ? or preds? next step maybe CT/MRI?

I had very similar case in an 8 year old yorkie a while back. Started off showing intermittent signs of pain, radiographs showed small amount spinal spondylosis, and nsaids made no difference. Eventually started losing forelimb proprioception. Referral and MRI diagnosed syringomyelia with about 60% of cervical spinal cord atrophied, and hugely enlarged cerebral ventricles.

RE: Neck pain only at night
