Do draw the line at cases of severe heart failure symptomatic even with meds, especially for hepatoid adenomas where 2 implants will likely outlive life expectancy of patient, reverse problems in question and not put patient at risk. No brainer for obstipated ckcs with severe heart disease or geriatric bulldog. Early or midlife castration obviously preferable.

previous bad reactions should not preclude future treatments more a review if previous regime and thorough planning - can be harder to get consent from owner when viable medical alternatives are available, and have been discussed as part of informed consent

RE: Anal adenoma ans suprelorin implants

[quote user="Michael Woodhouse"]I remember a ~15 year old Dachshund that moved to the area.
I had a similar story with a CKCS. removed pretty much all her teeth, like a different dog the next day.
Do these really exist? I appreciate that some patients are higher risk, but I've never yet seen an animal of any species we treat, that I am not prepared to anaesthetise, even those with previous bad reactions.

Had a dog in last week for a GA and stitch up. Dog had a large ?lipoma in front of sheath that was starting to interfere with urination - we removed under the same GA. Own practice (allegedly) said dog was not a GA candidate.

I just don't get it.

RE: Anal adenoma ans suprelorin implants

Have had similar response compared to castration, but wears off.
