Burgess Excel for Mature Rabbits has added glucosamine, so that might be an option?

RE: Glucosamine/Joint supplements in rabbits

This is something that I have been meaning to look into myself for my own rabbit- who is not overweight but I am just aware that she is slowing down and will soon be 8 years old. I was thinking along the cartophen route as I am not overly keen on giving sea-life derived joint supplements to a vegan - that is what I need to look up about- I assume that joint supplements are commonly from green-lipped mussels etc and I assume that cartophen is not, but I confess to be relatively ignorant on such matters.

Maybe I'm being over-the-top?

RE: Glucosamine/Joint supplements in rabbits

Keeping them at an optimum body condition score and on a correct diet is about the only thing that will make any difference. She could give them human or canine glucosamine/chondroitin as I'm sure neither would harm (or help, although let's not start that debate again) the rabbit.
