This lesion is on the lateral aspect of the L Fore of a young male rescue GSD. He is currently lame, but not in this area, so I suspect this is incidental. It is unilateral, and non-painful.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!
Thanks,

I can't imagine what tendons would insert here to support Anthony's theory but my orthopaedic anatomy is not good. You say it is a young dog - how young? Maybe it is from a previous greenstick fracture or other injury - presumably you'll never know if its a rescue, or an extra-cortical bone cyst. Looks a bit like my bunion!!

Re: bony lesion on 2.5 year old mlae GSD

Thanks, Anthony. We radiographed it, though it might be new bone formation from a ligament/tendon avulsion so went for resty and hydro therapy. Dog was never lame, after 2 months of restricted exercise she went back to normal exercise and no issues at all.

Re: bony lesion on 2.5 year old mlae GSD

Anyone seen anything like this before?
