 Am treating a 3 year old feline for what seemed to be idiopathic cystitis. 
 2 urine samples in a row have shown vast numbers of flat, rectangular, crystals, along with a small number of casts. &lt;p&gt;Otherwise, just checking that no iodine contrast-medium in bladder recently and not on any drugs that could lead to crystals? Regular diet?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Doesn&amp;#39;t look like glove talc to me.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Finally, I&amp;#39;d be more inclined to imagine an unusual appearance for a regular crystal type (struvite / calcium oxalate) rather than an unusual crystal type (cholesterol) if I was sure that these were genuinely reflective of the in vivo urine situation and the patient was symptomatic.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;These are just my own uninformed thoughts - be interested to hear what answer is if you find out.&lt;/p&gt;
