indeed but many, particularly porto-azygous shunts, are not diagnosed til later than 1-2yrs

Most likely idiopathic epilepsy but with an association with feeding and the raised ALP I would want to rule out a liver shunt although one would have expected symptoms earlier. So agree with BAST or even just resting BA, I assume glucose is normal as you've not mentioned it and can't see it will be pancreatitis unless he has abdominal pain. CT/MRI if owners can afford it to look for nasty things Chihuahuas can have going on in their silly skulls but epilepsy is a diagnosis of elimination and you may end up just with a therapeutic trial.

I'm not sure. The jaw movements are almost like a yawn, and dogs can do that with mesenteric or visceral pain if I remember correctly. Have a spec CPL been done? I'd agree with the BAST too.

Sounds like seizure episodes, but may be worth a bile acid stim test to rule out portosystemic shunt too.

In people, focal seizures can be odd vocalisations... so that's possible.

But it could be pain- though he's not looknig at his flanks, or scratching at a sore bit etc so it's hard to know.

Hi- I can't see the video, but the episdoes you describe could well be focal seizures..

I'd ceratinly check fasting glucose (if you didn't already) and possibly just after an episode.
