Did it one one cat that chronic otitis media due to polyps, scraped all the polyps out with care and placed a drain and flushed it for about a week. It recovered but recurred about 2 years later.

If simple flushing (possibly repeated) fails, I don't think it's extreme.

Thank you, we'll probably have a very thorough flush of the bulla. I should have been a bit clearer about a ventral bulla osteotomy, I meant to say I think it's a bit extreme at this stage, if we don't get anywhere with other treatments I would consider it.

There's an article in JSAP about fitting them for PSOM in CKCS - if it's feasible in cavvies I can't see why it wouldn't be in a ragdoll, though I've no idea whether it would be appropriate for your case at all.
