&lt;p&gt;What is the Na:K ratio though? Sometimes they can be a little vague like this and electrolytes can be within normal limits&lt;/p&gt;

Certainly you can keep the doxy going until week 3; the Merck manual recommends imidocarb proprionate as helpful. I&amp;#39;ve used it for acute ehrlichia many times with good success in Saudi - but there may have been (and probably were) lots of other baddies in the blood in those cases; babesia, lyme, and lord knows what else. (Western Saudi Arabia doesn&amp;#39;t have any veterinary labs that will run tests for me, so you have an advantage here that I didn&amp;#39;t.)&lt;/p&gt;
