How do degus do without incisors?
The case is a 7 month old. Skull rads show that both maxillary and mandibular incisors are overgrowing into the cheek teeth. The mandibular incisors have also punctured the hard palate and caused an infection

Re: degu dental dz

I thought it'd be fine but I like using this forum for silly little questions- I find it reassuring! I have a rabbit myself with no incisors and I figure that the degu probably does not use its incisors much at the moment anyway.

Also, I've been looking at the crude fibre contents of different degu foods and it appears that Supreme's version is only 10% CF. Unless that's a typo on their website, I'd expect better of them!

Re: degu dental dz

Rodents only really need their incisors for gnawing unlike rabbits which need them to groom their faecal pellets, so in theory it should be fine.
