I have an 8yo MN DSH who I diagnosed with high grade alimentary lymphoma in July 2014. He is on a high dose COP regime and doing very well (still in remission). However after the past 2 administrations of vincristine and cyclophosphamide he has

Re: Alopecia/pruritus on high dose COP

Hi Kara

I certainly see epilation as a consequence of chemotherapy. Focal alopecia is a reality in some cats who are not on chemo so I would find it easy to believe that there is a combination of underlying factors at work here. I have certainly not seen focal hyperaesthesia as a consequence of chemo but I do see cats who get progressively and increasingly hacked off by their repeated veterinary visits and associated offences to their dignity that then follow. This can manifest as a reluctance to be touched around the scruff area in particular.

I would be interested to know if others have had similar experiences to yours but for my money this is a cat who is fed up of feeling grotty who also has the predictable coat quality changes one associates with chemo.

Best wishes for 2015 everyone
