Plenty of time then. Can anyone tell me what the **** a Written Scheme of Examination for an Autoclave is.
Jill thank you We didnt have a WSE in our manual but the manufacturer Kronus has promised to send us one

Thank you both for your comments

We have a service contract with the manufacturers of our autoclave which presumably means there engineer's are familiar with the WSE.

This does however raise the question of the remit of the PSS (maybe this should be in the council elections section). Why should the PSS duplicate requirements of other organisations (such as HSE) and why is it not more concerned about purely veterinary matters? Perhaps I will move this topic over.

As it is a legal requirement to have a WSE ensuring that it is present under the PSS at least avoids the possibility of Improvement Notices or prosecution by HSE. If you want to reply offline with the name of your autoclave if I have a WSE to match I can forward it to you, Jill

Re: Practice standards scheme

What is the point in having the service manual? An autoclave is not a user-servicable piece of equipment and I pay good money to an engineer to do all that for me. Is this not a case of paperwork for the sake of it? I fail to see how having the manual helps my practice.
