Slightly increased urea on perioperative bloods for mass removal, so had ivft. Creatinine and phos OK. USG a few days later too low. Re-checked and still too low and is 1st urination of day.

I think on this basis I'd stick with your original plan - get owner to measure water intake over 24h period. If owner on board then blood pressure & abdominal ultrasound are sensible.

If not monitor for trends and recheck in 3m. Could be early renal dysfunction.

Re: Proteinuria

Thanks for your reply.

Male castrated pyrenean.

USG 1.020 1.018 1.014, 1st 2 in house refractometer, latter external lab.

Proteinuric on dipstick & confirmed by UPCR of 1.

Culture negative, no crystals, no blood, no leucocytes.

Originally on potentiated amoxicillin for hepatoid gland adenoma removal. Anal gland infection too, culture showed 2 profuse isolates, both sensitive to enrofloxacin. Urine sent to lab whilst on antibiotics, only at recheck discovered owner gave at bid rather than sid. Drug company yesterday reports this shouldn't have mattered.

Normocalcaemic on inhouse bloods. Think liver enzymes were normal too.

Re: Proteinuria
9yo large breed dog.

Slightly increased urea on perioperative bloods for mass removal, so had ivft. Creatinine and phos OK. USG a few days later too low. Re-checked and still too low and is 1st urination of day.

Urine to lab shows no infection and proteinuric at level 1.

The client accidentally double dosed the digs antibiotics it was on, but this shouldn't have affected the proteinuria should it?

I've suggested quantifying water intake, then likely blood pressure and an ultrasound exam.
A few thoughts:

Male/female? Entire?

How low was the USG?

Proteinuria quantified with UPCR or just dipstick?

No infection on culture or dipstick? Could any infection be suppressed by peri-operative antibiotics?

Which antibiotics?

What sort of mass + where?

Any evid hypercalcaemia?

Anything to support Cushing's (e.g. incr. ALP)?

I would agree with your initial plan in an otherwise asymptomatic dog.
