An eye CPD speaker recommended celluvisc for ongoing use in dry eye as it has no preservatives and is not inclined to induce irritation over time when used chronically.

Re: Lubrithral unavailable are there any other animal viscotears?
Clinadry is REALLY good.
I don't like Clinadry, too expensive, hardly anything in the tube and it only lasts for a short time. We use Viscotears for lubricating eyes in surgery, I would think KY jelly would be just as good for that.

Re: Lubrithral unavailable are there any other animal viscotears?
Have been mindlessly using Viscotears for the past couple of decades and never heard of any of the other products mentioned in this thread - am I missing a trick here? Is there a clear consensus on a list of better products that are superior to viscotears for dry eye? If so, is this a price neutral decision and if not is the extra cost worthwhile for the benefit seen?

Genuinely interested as think this one might have passed me by...

I was exactly the same until some rep or other showed me lubrithral- I went for it as I was a little miffed that clients just kept going up to the chemist and buying viscotears there, instead of from me. I do think the larger tubes 15g ish work out more economical too and as they say cat and dog on them the client thinks they are specific and don't go looking for an alternative elsewhere.

Re: Lubrithral unavailable are there any other animal viscotears?

Have been mindlessly using Viscotears for the past couple of decades and never heard of any of the other products mentioned in this thread - am I missing a trick here?
