History from owner " It seems to be when you stroke the left hand side of his face

Re: Odd lip movement in Golden Retriever
mmm, does he actually activly only curl up his left side or is the right sight somehow paralysed?
I think that's on the button Sammy. If it is, I have seen this and it is idiopathic facial nerve paralysis in Goldies. Hopefully a neurologist will be along with an explanation of the exact mechanism but it should be self limiting. Its probably advisable to do a full neuro work-up but otherwise just monitor for progression in case it is part of more serious progressive generalised neuropathy.

Re: Odd lip movement in Golden Retriever

mmm, does he actually activly only curl up his left side or is the right sight somehow paralysed?

That's how I looked when I came back from the dentist the other day!

I think a clinical neurological examination will tell you more than a picture can.
