I probably did when I watched the TV series all those moons ago but I learned that Laiboni in Maasai culture is the witchdoctor while in Tanzania (not a lot of people know that either)!

'Daktari' = kiswahili for 'doctor' (not a lot of people know that...)

I contacted DEFRA and they pointed me in the direction of Bristol Uni (presumably the Acarus lab)... they don't seem to know either if the scheme still exists!

I've been trying to find this out as well (for a Cert AVP essay). The entry on the DEFRA website is no longer updated, any links to the DACTARI submission forms are broken and articles in the Vet Record discussing the scheme are mainly about 10 years old. I presume the scheme has quietly been scrapped, if any one knows differently I'd be interested to find out!
