What is your favourite protocol sedation when you have to take blood from cats for blood transfusion?

induce GA with propofol (no premeds), maintain with isoflurane; wait five minutes; keep plane of anaesthesia light; take blood from jugular vein of course.

I figure that an inhalational anaesthetic is the only drug I can remove from the body almost as fast as I put it in, and of course the endotracheal tube and oxygen are in place.

And it's cheap.

I now await the flaming missiles from anaesthetists.

It didn't affect the recipient! Hopefully somebody who does this more regularly will answer.
