As they only want samples to be received between Monday and Wednesday, I'm going to have to wait until next Monday to send it anyway, so I'll order one of these in the meantime.

Many thanks for your help - much appreciated!

Re: ?Fanconi syndrome

Yes, they arrived okay.

I think fedex are the only ones that will do it.

Check out the link below, this is the packaging we used, they supply ice packs too. You can by them in 20 pack

Or if you don't send much lab stuff abroad, I think you can get single boxes. Obviously you don't have to use

These, we just found them useful.

I used to just seal the outer polystyrene with packing tape and send it.

Hi.

I have sent samples to penn several times.

I used fedex next day priority. I packed the sample in bubble wrap with ice packs.

Then place in to an ice cream type tub, finally packaged into a box.

fedex will help you with the paper work.

You need to complete customs declarations as to what is in the package.

If you don't say what it is it causes delays.

It's cheaper to deal with penn direct.
Thanks for that - I assume the samples have arrived suitably chilled for appropriate testing. FedEx appear to be the only couriers who will take blood/urine outside the UK

Re: ?Fanconi syndrome

Hi.

No - three separate samples collected on different days into sterile containers (I agree always worth checking this though!)

Re: ?Fanconi syndrome
Having tried to send frozen samples from Ireland to England before, I can assure you that it is likely to be no less "simple" than are expecting...

Could you start with fractional excretion tests that can be done in UK? Sodium and potassium should be straight-forward, and others like magnesium and phosphate are probably not too hard to get done?
I spoke to our usual UK lab and they said that they would send the samples to Penn and charge us a lot more for doing so, so we would be better off dealing with Penn direct!

Re: ?Fanconi syndrome

No chance the urine collection process involved a honey-pot?

Re: ?Fanconi syndrome

Having tried to send frozen samples from Ireland to England before, I can assure you that it is likely to be no less "simple" than are expecting...
